2007-02-21 21:47:00 | Jack, are you actually with Xtra? Why any member of PF1 would be with Xtra after so much criticism has been discussed is a mystery to me.

I've had pretty good service, so I will stay with them. Of course, I am reasonably close to an exchange, not like pctek :) |

2007-02-21 22:15:00 | Jack, are you actually with Xtra? Why any member of PF1 would be with Xtra after so much criticism has been discussed is a mystery to me. Been with them since the first days of broadband (switched from Clearnet dial up) I enjoy fast reliable service and prompt responses from their help line (my port at the exchange died and was replaced same day), other connection issues were dealt with efficiently to identify a modem fault, and recent overcharging (wrong plan at changeover) was refunded next bill. I followed their instructions from the start (how many years is that now?), upgraded my house wiring to a 2-wire system in Cat5e, had a Telecom splitter installed and everything just runs sweet. That's why. Cheers Billy 8-{)

2007-02-21 22:28:00 | JJJJ: "Well I've said it before and I'll say it again. What the hell are you still with xtra for? Xnet is faster and cheaper. I think some people stay with xtra so they can have something to grizzle about"  Yeah, and it gives idiots like Jack and me something to feel sactimonious about!

2007-02-21 22:47:00 | Of course, I am reasonably close to an exchange, not like pctek :) Do you realise that she is with in 1km of her exchange? I don't pay the bill, so I can't choose... BUT when I get a permanant job I will take over the net bill and then choose what I want :D The only problems I have which I believe are caused by the distance from the exchage (just over 4km) are speed (expected) and drop outs, only thing is I can't use torrents cause it kills the connection... *shrugs* I have a faster line that I have access to (also Go Large) that is fast and can max out with torrents so I am happy (cause I don't use torrents all that much... :p) And Jack... get over it and stop complaining, you are happy now so stop your moaning

2007-02-22 04:35:00 | Xnet is faster and cheaper. Xnet is cheaper. Faster isn't dependent on the ISP. I still have 600k ish with Xnet after ditching Xtra. And I am within 400m.....god this gets boring. They need to update their equipment, apart from other issues casuing speed problems.
