526693 2007-02-21 04:34:00 I went to GoDaddy (www.godaddy.com) and bought a domain/name for a few years (I know...might just be a waste of money)...but now I wonder what good is it?

I have a neat E-mail client-thingy and it's supposed to do a great job in sending large files and such...

How can I use it as a FTP?

This is a new area for me.

526694 2007-02-21 04:37:00 What did you buy it to use for? Is it your own name? Or did you have some sort of webterprise you wanted to start? chchinformer (11393)
526695 2007-02-21 05:12:00 It's in my own name...no, I don't want to conduct business from it...but I want to be able to send/receive files and such thru it....more than anything..It's kinda kewl to have my own domain! SurferJoe46 (51)

You will need a webhost if you want your own email mailboxes, and a website using the domain or use ftp . I would recommend a host that has it's servers based in NZ as email connection speeds are far better and websites also load faster . This page has a list of NZ hosts . netguide . co . nz/Home/Shopping/ISPNetDirectory/Domainnamesandhosting/tabid/114/Default . aspx" target="_blank">www . netguide . co . nz

Location: San Jacinto, California, USA ;)

So in his case he would use a USA server not a NZ one as a USA server will be faster then a NZ one.

Good point, a server in California would be the best bet.

By using a FTP client to connect to your domain?

Cheers :)
