Only has the rainy season and the dry season, Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter are barely discernable. The break in the dry season for the first rain is always around Nov 5th, the smell of the rain in Africa, wonderful and indescribable, an ancient memory that you don't even know you have until you experience it. The sound of the insects after a rainstorm, evocative and intense, you can hear a minor version of it sometimes in Auckland from the cicadas. |

Pctek's suggestion of using bacon fat is ok at times, but you need to cook a lot of bacon to have a ready supply of rendered fat. Both unhealthy. | Greg (193) | ||

You use a little bit for your cooking. I avoid deep frying with anything. Even chip s are easy, slice themn up, put a smear of bacon fat in your roasting dish, add chips and cook on high heat. Crispy and tasty. |
