| 526368 | 2007-02-23 09:27:00 | Ive got a Thermaltake Armour case ($400 inc 550W thermaltake PSU) I'm old enough to get a drivers license.. :D (but only just :p) I have a thermaltake case with an Enermax 550 Watt PSU. Kandalph case. I had a drivers licence at age 15. Possibly I may be old enough to lose it if I do not pass my medical in another 5 months. Just another to keep driving without glasses and my 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. PFTDW endorsements. Lian-Li cases are good too. Back to budget as well. |

It really is a crime not to overclock these chips theyre just begging for it! If you don't like Super Talent swap it with the equivalent G Skill or Corsair sticks, they're all based on Promis IC's so it wont make much difference. Promos IC's are good for 900MHz+ if you want to go any higher you'd need Micon D9 based memory. If you cant stand Gigabytes stupid colour scheme swap in either the Asus P5B-E or P5B-Deluxe it wont make any difference. The Abit AB9 Quad GT looks awesome but isn't available in NZ yet, theres also pre-production photos of a DFI 965 popping up around the web but no idea when it will be released. The 7950GT or 7900GS are currently the best bang for buck video cards available, but remember nVidia and ATi will release mid range DX10 card in a couple of months. If the 7900 series is too much money to waste for a card you'll replace in a few month do what i did and grab a Palit 7600GS Sonic, its a 7600GS with DDR3 so it'll easily clock to 7600GT+, and should be good for physics when nVidia and ATi finally get round to releasing support for it. Harddrives are really a no brainer, buy enough storage to suit your needs. The people that reckonmend generic PSU's and Thermaltake cases deserve to have they're reproductive organs removed! A generic PSU is a time bomb just waiting to kill your new PC, and the only sane people who buy Thermaltake products arent old enough to legal get a drivers license ;) So you price is? I had a vasectomy around 1980 so therefore can't pass my insane genes on. People who overclock stuff possibly need a lobotomy. So when are you having your operation? |

| 526373 | 2007-02-23 11:51:00 | G Harddrives are really a no brainer, buy enough storage to suit your needs. Well actually, I would recommend one of the latest type with perpendicular recording. The speed of hard drive can make huge difference in how snappy a system feels. Especially if you are using them in a raid setup. |
