Regarding that message - try this-- Click start - in the search type in CMD when it appears in the results - RIGHT click it - Run as administrator - when it opens then type in sfc /scannow <press Enter> Hopefully it will run through. If it wont run, in the search- type in Services locate the following services, and make sure they are running: Windows Modules Installer (Service Name: msiserver). Windows Installer (Service Name: TrustedInstaller). That command speedy put , try it again in CMD, but as above (run as Administrator) %SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\REGSVR32.EXE %SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\WUAUENG.DLL If its still turning to custard then have a read of This article from MS (support.microsoft.com). You can also replace the files that say are not working wucltui.dll & qmgr.dll ---- Do you have access to another working Vista PC, other wise the dll files may be needed to be extracted from the Vista DVD.
