| 731481 | 2008-12-21 17:13:00 | I have setup D-link wireless on my Ubuntu box and all is ok but I can not get synaptic to go and download manager shows downloads available but they won't download.it just goes on and on working but no download. Synaptic just times out when trying to bring up my admin sign in.It times out very quickly. |

| 731485 | 2008-12-22 04:57:00 | You could try: - open terminal and tail the syslog - retry the update program and see what's in the syslog or perhaps try update from the command line (apt-get), probably best to hunt around the ubuntu forums for suggestions. |

| 731489 | 2008-12-22 05:42:00 | How about: sudo hostname <my-new-hostname> and also edit your hosts file: sudo vi /etc/hosts (or whatever editor you feel comfortable with) and manually change/remove the entry you want |
