| 731132 | 2008-12-19 23:58:00 | I'm replacing my 80G 5400rpm HDD with a 160G 7200rpm one and I want to put partitions in it . I want to put Windows on 1 partition and all my music, my documents and other stuff on another . I have a few questions, first question, can I install the applications on the 2nd partition (the non OS one) and if I can do that is it a good idea to do that, in terms of speed and performance? Also what size should I make the partitions? I read somewhere that the OS partition should not be more than 50% full . I have Vista Ultimate 64bit which is about 9 -10 gig big, I also have MS flight Simulator which is around 15 gig so it would be ideal to have this on the non OS partition since it is so big ( to avoid the 50% free space thing) thanks for your help |
