2007-02-23 00:13:00 | This thing a a rip off. Last year I bought my wife the Office 2003 version for $198. This one is $100 dearer and does not contain Outlook. You have to pay about another $250 up get a version that does contain Outlook.. Anyone who buys this is nuts..

2007-02-23 00:15:00 | so u didn't need an id to buy? | lance4k (4644) | |
2007-02-23 00:25:00 | Just as long as u have a student ID whether you're at school, or Uni. You should be able to buy it.

2007-02-23 01:05:00 | Well go to DSE and find out then. Then you'll know if u need an ID. | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2007-02-23 01:14:00 | If you ARE at a tertiary institution, then check them out before going to a store like DSE. They usually sell student versions direct from MS cheaper. | bob_doe_nz (92) | |
2007-02-23 01:53:00 | paulw: The 2003 Student and Teacher edition didn't contain Outlook. It never did, and that's why the new version doesn't have it. lance4k: IF you are a university student, these people: www.lapshop.co.nz were/are selling Office 2003 Pro at special prices, through an agreement with Microsoft and a special licencing programme. I suspect (though don't quote me on this), that they'll eventually be selling Office 2k7 PRO at a similar price. And to answer your original question: No you don't need ID of any kind, as the information you read confirms. IF you are a "developer", and would like to get your hands on a free (sort of) copy of Office 2007 Pro, attend the Microsoft Technical Briefing: www.microsoft.com - the cost is $199, with a complimentary copy of either Office 2007 or Vista Ultimate thrown in - think of the registration fee as the cost of the software.

2007-02-23 02:34:00 | Its actually $199+ GST so the actual cost comes to $223.875 | beeswax34 (63) | |
2007-02-23 02:49:00 | Its actually $199+ GST so the actual cost comes to $223.875 I stand corrected. It's still cheaper than going out and buying a copy though, if you're willing to give up a day of your life.
