1433813 2017-04-05 06:38:00 Have just downloaded the latest update for IrfanView and notice it has put an massive number of pics into the recycle bin.

Their help file states they were doing this since update 2.83 in 1998.

Has anyone else updated this 32bit for all Windows versions, to ver 4.4 lately and is it safe to empty the recycle bin?.

1433814 2017-04-05 07:10:00 I have V4.40.
Have never had IrfanView delete files, or cause any other issues on an update.

Are the pics yours, or did they come with the download?

1433816 2017-04-05 09:19:00 Read your post and updated IrfanView to 4.44 32 bit from 4.38 (I think that was the old version), didn't download any plugins, and nothing was put into the Recycle bin. Terry Porritt (14)

Will just empty it and carry on.
