1433764 2017-04-03 13:51:00 Ok, this isn't a technical question more an observation and then a query to all the F1'ers out there.

I have contacted MS online support on a few occassions recently asking for download links to iso image files for various MS products. I had MSDN license keys but being our of NZ at the moment i don't have the iso images with me (stored on my NAS which I left back home).

Now whilst, I do get the info to the downloads I am asking for, 1 peculiar thing is that on every occassion i've asked for this info, the agent always at some point wants my permission to login remotely to my computer? Naturally, I say no, as I don't see the need for this to happen if all I'm asking for are download links.

The agent almost always asks a second time but when I say no the second time they provide the info I asked for?

So the question is; Does anyone know why they would want remote assistance access to my machine to provide this info... one theory I have is possible to generate the download links directly from my computer but this is a guess at best.

Anyone have any ideas about this?

Cheers,

The problem Ihave is that the "Standard" download tools do not appear to work if you are using MSDN keys. I ended up talking to MS Support because the tool on the website, failed to recognise my MSDN license keys.

Appreciate the link to the iso tool though this will be good for Windows 8/10.
