1433464 2017-03-28 09:20:00 Which of the following is NOT true about Process Creation and Termination?
a. Parent may temporarily halt the execution of a child process via wait()
b. Parent may terminate a child process via abort()
c. exec() system call replaces the process' memory with a new program
d. Exit() is a system call used to indicate OS that the process has finished executing all of
its program and OS may delete it from RAM

My guess is a.

I'm baffled, what's the correct answer? Reason being, "temporarily halt". All the rest seem accurate and can't find a flaw.

Thank you

1433465 2017-03-28 16:04:00 Your guess is correct, but you need to explain the reason better than by questioning the wording.

What does the wait() system call do?

Who usually calls it and for what reason?

If you answer those 2 questions, you will start seeing why A is not correct.
