Perhaps a few less of these trips might allow a few luxuries?

We save up for some considerable time - besides as I also said, we have some savings put aside so we are not completely skint, we just have to be careful with our spending, otherwise it won't last.

Not only that - you will notice that I did not say that I go to the UK - we can't afford both of us to go - besides SWMBO is visiting her family. My family is in Auckland.

Please don't take my comment as an attack, it was not so intended.
I just found the two posts a little contradictory.

Power -220 roughly, taking into account summer/winter differences
Phone/Net - $100
Rates -26.98 fortnight exactly
Insurances - 205

Car? - not sure, maybe $50 a fortnight in petrol
3rd party rubbish collection - I forget, she changed it a while ago, $150 every 6 months about now
Sky $53

OK? Lawn man $20

And she puts aside some into savings, she pays the rubbish and things like car rego out of it, and the rest accumulates for whatever, appliance replacements, unexpected expenses.

There's the other stuff, doctors and so on, don't know what she spends on that. Food - a lot.
I suppose she buys clothes and things now and then too.

What else is she supposed to pay? I can't think of anything......
No rent or mortgage.

1432867 2017-03-17 19:58:00 Why is it so weird?
Mines not too far different.
I pay things monthly, I round it up a bit.
I pay 170 on power (without son here)
Phones/net $170, includes cellphone
Sky $58 I thought (rounded up) maybe she doesn't get the magazines, we do
Water bill $75 - she doesn't get one
Rates $130 but I don't get the rebate - she does
Insurances $180 but my car is worth less than hers

The big difference is I have a mortgage, thats big enough thanks, takes a hell of a chunk.
