1432934 2017-03-17 02:35:00 Hiya all, I am planning a photography trip to the south island. Generally when do the colours peak? Mid to late April? Areas of Tekapo, Twizel, Wanaka and maybe Cromwell, is Cromwell worth it?

Thanks.

1432936 2017-03-17 06:17:00 Central Otago - Queenstown, Arrowtown, Cromwell, Wanaka - all worth a visit. Autumn colours are starting here (Invercargill) now, but we don't get the spectacular ones that Central gets. I think I am saying, that the autumn colours may be earlier this year. But check with another informant. R.M. (561)

What a b u g g e r we are selling all that land to those grotesque billionaires, and they will lock-up access to those lovely spots in the future.
