2017-03-09 22:45:00 | I received an email from Vodafone yesterday stating: "We hope you've enjoyed watching the SKY channel you received as a special offer when you signed up. This is just a reminder that this offer finishes in one month. There's nothing you need to do to continue, the standard monthly charge will simply be added to your bill. If you'd no longer like to continue with this channel, just give us a call on 0800 438 448." Beware!! A simple phone call complaint to VF got me a further one year's discount for the Sports Channels - $30.00 value. If it wasn't because I need Sky to watch Formula One, I would have told them to shove it................ Was advised that it was something to do with the failure of the VF/Sky merger :annoyed: :annoyed:

You wont know unless you check your visa a/c each month 2 AV companies had big fines for doing that some years back, hidden opt ins & made it very hard to turn off the opt in autopayment after you found out. |

2017-03-10 03:17:00 | Well while we are discussing Rorts and Sharp Practise here is another new one. As a lot of Trade Me users are probably aware Trade Me is rolling out a new payment system to replace PayNow. Heres the guts of it. 7921 So in effect they will hold your money in Trust instead of transferring it to your Bank Account. At least until you instruct them to. So whats the problem you say? Well here is the twist, hidden in the new conditions. 7922 What a nice little money earner. Not sure it is legal either as I know years ago Lawyers (who would have thought) and Real Estate Agents (who would have thought) got jumped on for pocketing interest on money held in Trust Accounts. Given the amount of Money passing through Trade Me it would be a great little Money Spinner. :)

2017-03-10 04:24:00 | I don't use Trade Me but this sounds like an ESCROW payment system in which they maybe going to do more than just auction but start allowing stores and manufacturers on to advertise. This is the payment system Alibaba uses so that your money is held till you confirm you got the item. Isn't that better than sending a lot of money to a scammer and having no way of getting it back?

2017-03-10 05:56:00 | Real estate companies have been doing this for years Not all Real estate companies do that, it depends on if they have their own trust accounts interest or non interest accounts or use the NZRET. Had to chuckle the other day, dumped sky a few months back, and had them ringing back up trying to get me to join with "special Offers"
