732313 2008-12-24 20:05:00 You cant run Office on Linux. Since it doesnt work on Linux. Unless you use something like Wine

But there are alternative suites (Openoffice), which is free

You probably cant run games, or memory intensive programs

732314 2008-12-24 23:58:00 You can do anything on an Eee PC (theoretically), but it depends on the OS.

If you want something like XP on it, you can install it using 2 flash drives (using one as a boot 'floppy' and running XP setup from the other one)

Or you could just use an external CD drive like I did and boot from that. :)

732317 2008-12-25 08:51:00 I am going on holiday up north in camper van for a week. Two kids and no internet is going to be hell for them
I was thinking about vodem and lappie but its too expensive because only plans are for 24 months.
Same with t stick
Ideally some sort of prepay with mobile broadband would be good but it doesent exist yet.
Could someone tell me if a blackberry or palm trio would be ok for web surfing the kids play runescape would the screen be too small ?
Thanks for any advice my sanity is at stake here plus you get locked up for strangling kids

732318 2008-12-25 19:48:00 Take lots of board games, footballs, cricket bats etc and teach them how to be a real family like in the old days. When we go camp9ing no electronic toys are allowed and my step son has a great time usually take his cousin with us though as he is an only child gary67 (56)
