529454 2007-03-02 20:04:00 Actually I'm not biased to any of the cars don't care whether it is Holden or Ford who wins, I go by the drivers. My pick to win would be any of the Kiwi drivers followed by Craig Lowndes, being my top pick of the Aussie drivers.

529455 2007-03-04 12:14:00 Its kinda funny, because alot of people go on about how much better the fords/and or holdens are in the V8 supercars.

What a lot of people dont realise that they are all the same car underneath. Same engines, same design. Because of all the cars that got banned all those years ago and the V8 boys having a cry, they made some pretty stringent rules about what you can and cant have. So essentially, it doenst matter whether its a holden or a ford. There all the same under the bonnet.

Only difference between the cars is the bodies (obviously), and car set up.

The driver skill also equates into it as well, which is why I reckon lowndes will win Bathurst again  *waits for the holden boys to flame him*

529456 2007-03-04 19:01:00 You are wrong very wrong Holden and ford are not the same under the bonnet
holden as of last year now use holden motorsport engines big chevvy v8 engines and they are very different from what ford use ford use some other brand of engine i forget what it is, next time theirs a race on listen to the Holden and ford engine you will here a different engine note in both brands. The new ve Holden commodore was also designed around the HMS engines any Holden driver will tell you that, they might all go roughly the same speed but under project blueprint they all have to be wound back in engine speed to be even against both brands thems the rules.630hp is alot of grunt for a v8.
As for lowndes flaming the holdens it looks like he got extinguished in the weekend Holden dominated throughout the two races the kelly brothers and that new ve are very strong and they ate the fords for breakfast lowndes has a weaker car and he crys if he gets tapped. HOLDEN RULZ

529457 2007-03-04 19:22:00 Yawn.... Ozzy car Vs Ozzy car paulw (1826)
529458 2007-03-04 20:13:00 I'm interested to see how well Team Kiwi do under the Ford badge, but judging from the weekend it doesn't look good. :(

and the whole Ford vs Holden thing is so childish, you take it back to the days when the smaller engine cars dominated and see who's the better car then.

529459 2007-03-04 20:24:00 you could do that but you'd have a big problem because within that time the technology in cars has changed so much that those old cars would still lose up against the new ones of today. Hitech (9024)
529460 2007-03-04 23:00:00 A Nissan Skyline Turbo from back when ever it was would still run rings around those Ford Holden bricks.

529461 2007-03-05 00:02:00 Well trev they are bloody fast bricks then considering back in the 70s and 80s cars were almost two tonne now they are just 1 tonne. Hitech (9024)
529462 2007-03-05 07:38:00 did anyone else thing the guy who seems to be the no. 1 pit reporter was a complete wan%$# when he interviewed the winners at the end of the races? I thought the commentary team, except Crompton, was crap and there was not enough car noise - like they had been watching too many UK races. wotz (335)
