Want everyone to know about it? ;)

Check this out (system76.com)

It's a great site for Ubuntu wannabees too.....books and such to let you work it like a geek.

528700 2007-02-28 10:14:00 Maybe they have tried Ubuntu, shuddered, and went to bed?
If I wanted this level of bland un-usability I would have bought an Apple (Ducks into fireproof room).

i tried ubuntu the other day on my spare pc, after 3 days of fiddling/reinstalling, i gave up on networking and got out my windows cd. it seemed fine for the average user, but i couldn't get networking nor internet to work for more than 3 seconds :/

if anyone want's some ubuntu cds just ask

528702 2007-03-01 15:45:00 What I think I see is that gamers as a rule don't care for or like Linux systems..and I can understand that....

...while others who don't game seem to get along just fine with it..(OK..there IS a learning curve..but we all had to run the gauntlet for WinNT at first)..right? :waughh:

as a gamer i see where you're coming from, but i'd like to be free of all the windows crap filling up my precious ram etc. problem is i know you can subscribe to cedega or whatever, but i'm sure it would (eventually) cost as much as a vista ultimate cd. so as a gamer i want linux, but like mac it isn't quite viable yet (macs are completely out of the question)

and for 'others', i dont see any of my family members handling it well... actually, on second thought, i've set up xp for all of them anyway....

ok, maybe linux on dell machines COULD work, and dell could design it's own distro just to be sure, and to make it more-or-less like windows to remove that learning curve (not that ubuntu etc aren't far off)
