| 528616 | 2007-03-01 22:19:00 | Never had an issue with a hard boiled egg, cold water or just leave it and its easy to peel. If you want a soft boiled egg so the yolk is still runny. Then not sure. Maybe pinch that thin membrane under the shell and try to pull that apart to peel it. That may not take out as much egg. Or just poach it. Another thing is, split the egg into half and then use a teaspoon and whip it out. |

| 528619 | 2007-03-02 00:48:00 | Soft boiled egg. I find that if you pop the egg into cold water in a saucepan, just covering the eggs. Bring to boil. Once it starts boiling time for around 2mins 45 sec to 3 mins. Yolk should be set and the yolk just beginning to set. I did 2:45 to get that so maybe 2:35 should be ideal. |

I think I need help :stare: Reminds me of our families first day in America in 1967 (Seattle). Staying at the Vance Hotel we decided that breakfast was probably cheaper at a little cafe across the road. There were 4 of us. Me, my wife and our 2 young kids. we ordered boiled eggs and toast. To our amazement even the adults boiled eggs were served up in a big bowl and had been whipped up as though we were little babies. We felt from that moment that we may find the American life difficult to live with. When later on I was asked how I wanted my fried eggs I was sure. I mean fancy being asked how you want your fried eggs. I think I answered "Fried" Tempted to reply "medium rare" I held off. Did well though - we managed to endure over 3 years there. We got to love the Americans but hated the way of life. Americans really deserve better. Tom |

Personally I still don't have the faintest idea of the difference between over-easy and whatever the heck the other daft description is. |
