529345 2007-03-02 08:12:00 I think I lead a sheltered life.

I think I need a lie down :D

I hope you saw the line in my later post -

529346 2007-03-02 08:48:00 We need the Scottish system here, where there are 3 verdicts.
Guilty
Not Proven
Not Guilty.

Given the now-known facts, the outcome, in my opinion, is "not proven" in this instance, mostly by the passage of time.

That would not mean "not guilty".

529347 2007-03-02 08:48:00 Don't forget to mention that he has been associating with known criminals for most of his working life. R2x1 (4628)
529348 2007-03-02 08:51:00 Keep his job? In some systems he'd be lucky to keep his head. R2x1 (4628)
529349 2007-03-02 09:01:00 Personally I hope he stays in Auckland but as he has not been convicted of anything - it would appear to be a matter of his public credibiility which judging from comments here - isn't at a high point. Twelvevolts (5457)
529350 2007-03-02 09:30:00 How about a "Yes - we need all the police we can get, even if they are a bit shady?" option? manicminer (4219)

With all the Tui awards pending you can ask this?

529352 2007-03-02 15:29:00 Group sex plus adultery doesn't necessarily mean poor performance in some paid jobs .
(Resisting the temptation to supply examples here) .

And many of us have had colleagues whose alleycat activities didn't affect their jobs . I certainly have .

Laura . . . . I don't know of the prowess or stamina of NZ'rs in their respective boudoir or sexual arena, but it seems to me he'd be a bad risk at his job if he's been up all night debauching, cuckolding, frotting and adulterating .

. . does not make for a good resume for his next job either especially if ther're newspaper and tabloid headlines involved . :p

I, of course, have absolutely no idea who this person is . . . but the category in which he falls or (gasp!) inserts himself (I didn't say that . . . did I?) seems to be "fruit of the day" in all levels of private and public service .

Perhaps he can plead the "Twinkie defense ( . wikipedia . org/wiki/Twinkie_defense" target="_blank">en . wikipedia . org)" . (Read the third paragraph, esp . )

Here is a real Twinkie ( . google . com/imgres?imgurl=http://2xod . com/Gallery/full/Twinkie%2520Trap%25203 . jpg&imgrefurl=http://www . woot . com/Forums/ViewPost . aspx%3FPostID%3D564738%26PageIndex%3D10%2" target="_blank">images . google . com 6ReplyCount%3D748&h=1200&w=1600&sz=556&tbnid=D6EkrQ-w4ALHvM:&tbnh=113&tbnw=150&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dtwinkie&start=1&ei=KUDoRYKSAaHGgQPfmdnNCQ&sig2=nScEitPS9D652j85nJRX7g&sa=X&oi=images&ct=image&cd=1) .

and here is a blow-up . ( . com/Gallery/full/Twinkie%20Trap%203 . jpg" target="_blank">2xod . com)

This is also a Twinkie ( . google . com/imgres?imgurl=http://www . nerdgirl . com/sights/data/media/76/IMG_1938 . jpg&imgrefurl=http://www . nerdgirl . com/sights/details . php%3Fimage_id%3D3629%26sid%3D7f01fbb9ffdf" target="_blank">images . google . com 2a30f4bed76f728d9d4a&h=480&w=640&sz=59&hl=en&sig2=r0DVv4sYM0xBdm1xUPEruA&start=4&tbnid=nKZljbv8lk_XmM:&tbnh=103&tbnw=137&ei=b0HoRYOXN6T-JNuP2JIJ&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dfag%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Do ff%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26channel%3Ds%26rls%3Dorg . mozilla:en-US:official%26sa%3DG), but a different category .

529353 2007-03-02 19:16:00 I don't care if the jury found them not guilty. They had to.
Law and justice are 2 different things.

Take a look at the Herald this morning.

He can go rot somewhere.
