528966 2007-03-01 10:13:00 A friend from work took their computer to be fixed there and the hard drive was replaced. Some months later she gets an email from a complete stranger saying they have just bought a hard drive from QMB and was able to recover about 4 gigs of her personal data off it including her wedding photos and email details, which he used to contact her. He was offering to send the recovered files to her. Just what QMB was doing with selling her old (and supposedly dead) hard drive to someone else, I really don't know ...Wow! I sure won't be using them ever, not that I need to with two great suppliers nearby. But wow. Greg (193)

I've bought a couple of bits from them... ram etc, ram went faulty and they swapped no argument. Customer service and language skills leave a bit to be desired though.

528968 2007-03-01 10:53:00 Ive been a loyal customer of Qmbs for the last 3-4 years now... Between me and a friend we've spent well over $100,000 there (not just of our money of course, but buying PCs for others etc) and rarely have an issue.

Having just bought a laptop from DSE, Ive been back there 3x AFTER the sale in only 2 days! Thats well and truely more issues than I would have had with Qmb in a whole year! I'll still go back to DSE from time-to-time for certain things though, not going to let one bad experience put me off.

528969 2007-03-01 18:11:00 With the number of customers they have, it's just a matter of time before someone is gonna post that they are "quite pissed off", etc.

Well no. Plenty of large shops with tons of customers who keep on getting good comments for customer service.
How many moans have you seen about Ascent for instance?

528970 2007-03-02 09:45:00 Had sent a computer to a Taiwanese shop for repair before. He suggested I repalce the motherboard. So I did. I gave the supposedly spoilt motherboard to a frend. He installed it on his system and it was running fine. I just stop patronising his store. Then I found QMB.

Bought quite a few parts from them. One was faulty and decided that I don't want it at all. I returned them and no questions asked. I go to them because of their compettive prices. When serving customers, it' s impossible to please all. No matter how good one's service is, there are bound to be a few unsatisfied customers.

Think about this - I have a HP Laserjet that was faulty while under warranty. They don't test it to find out what's wrong with it. They just give me a new set. It may be chaeper to repalce the parts than they charging you the labour to test each part. They may take 2 hours and on top of that, the cost of the part as well.

528971 2007-03-02 11:59:00 Hah, QMB on a bad day would be better by accident than First Mobile in Birkenhead would be on purpose on their very best day. Try a warranty claim there and see how far you get. (The delay is the best part.)
Arrogance vying with technical ignorance. (Pretty much a dead heat.)
Fortunately I am not as annoyed with them now as I was a week ago.;)

528972 2007-03-03 03:52:00 My posting on this thread is Number 27 I think. If the original poster had been making a serious complaint, I would have thought he/she would have popped back and volunteered more information. However, there has been no further comment from AC. Makes me wonder whether it was just a flame job. Now they sit back and watch the fireworks.

Or, am I reading too much into the situation. On another forum, I have noticed that an angry poster on their first time, fails to appear again. Hmmm suspicious!1

528975 2007-03-15 22:21:00 I'm quite pissed off with QMB computers as they lied to me about the problem of the computer and tried to rip me off!

My computer was taken to them several times since it had a problem starting up. At first I figured maybe I need to re-install XP but when I took it to them, they said it was a problem with the connection. when the same problem happened for the second time I took it back and this time I was told that theres some problem with the motherboard and that I need to replace it and it will cost me $250. Each time I went the guys there seemed to have a different problem lined up. Later that week I took the computer to a friend of mine and I was told it only had a loose connection and guess what? he fixed it and it's working fine! What I dont understand is that they tested the computer several times and lied to me the whole time wanting to rip me off!! I'm so pissed off and I wouldn't mind taking this matter further! I trusted them to do a proper job abd fix the computer. I wonder how many customers they have ripped off over the years! Can someone please let me know how I should take this matter further. This is unffair and these ppl should stop ripping customers off!!

I feel SuperCheap as the best. Pricespy is arrogant and misled me to buy from QMB. I find QMB rip off.
