528957 2007-03-01 04:17:00 Hey you guys.
Remember SuperCheap? They always had their fans too, saying they never had problems.

I have had this problem with QMB. So has a friend of mine.

So don't pick on him just because he has posted about negative customer support he got.

528958 2007-03-01 04:26:00 Well said pctek.

A company can be good all round, or not so good in certain aspects of their business. So as a retailer they may be great, but not so flash at times with repairs.

A friend from work took their computer to be fixed there and the hard drive was replaced. Some months later she gets an email from a complete stranger saying they have just bought a hard drive from QMB and was able to recover about 4 gigs of her personal data off it including her wedding photos and email details, which he used to contact her. He was offering to send the recovered files to her. Just what QMB was doing with selling her old (and supposedly dead) hard drive to someone else, I really don't know ...

528960 2007-03-01 06:14:00 I use QMB all the time and the percentage of times I've need to get a replacement for a faulty part is mighty small.

As for repairs I do them myself; would I trust QMB to do them?? Probably not, but then I wouldn't trust an A+ accredited person either. Will I continue to buy from them?? Definitely - based on price, service, range and past experience.

With the number of customers they have, it's just a matter of time before someone is gonna post that they are "quite pissed off", etc.

528961 2007-03-01 06:25:00 I'm quite pissed off with QMB computers as they lied to me about the problem of the computer and tried to rip me off!

My computer was taken to them several times since it had a problem starting up. At first I figured maybe I need to re-install XP but when I took it to them, they said it was a problem with the connection. when the same problem happened for the second time I took it back and this time I was told that theres some problem with the motherboard and that I need to replace it and it will cost me $250. Each time I went the guys there seemed to have a different problem lined up. Later that week I took the computer to a friend of mine and I was told it only had a loose connection and guess what? he fixed it and it's working fine! What I dont understand is that they tested the computer several times and lied to me the whole time wanting to rip me off!! I'm so pissed off and I wouldn't mind taking this matter further! I trusted them to do a proper job abd fix the computer. I wonder how many customers they have ripped off over the years! Can someone please let me know how I should take this matter further. This is unffair and these ppl should stop ripping customers off!!

Some problems are difficult to pick up first time around. Many computer shops are just that, shops, and they may not have the full technical know how. If you o have a problem, you are often best to take it to a proper qualified technician.

528962 2007-03-01 06:33:00 My supplier works for QMB. And lol, I can't deny I hate him for being stingy and giving me high prices to resell (cheaper than most pricespy prices, but too expensive to be resold on trademe).

But customer-wise, I find QMB great as I have had no problem in 4 transactions I've made with them.

And guys, remember MY first post? I complained my heart out about ihug. Those ass-devils....still hold a grudge against ihug.

528965 2007-03-01 08:49:00 and guys, remember MY first post? I complained my heart out about ihug. Those ass-devils....still hold a grudge against ihug.

Funny you should say that. My co worker at work has had his internet disconnected by them 10 days before his requested date due to moving house.

They also want him to pay his account even though he has had no connection.

He has now moved into a new home and the taffing taffers at Ihug are still doing the runaround.
