then again i suppose if someone will buy two geforce7950s when one will easily handle any game on the market $70 isn't too much:rolleyes:

528298 2007-03-13 11:09:00 Im gonna go along, check it out, cant hurt to see how other LANs are run :) Chatted to the organiser privately a few times, seems like a decent bloke. Should be a good weekend. Anybody else I know gonna be there? Chilling_Silence (9)
528299 2007-03-13 11:17:00 will we need extension cords or will a mulitboard alone be sufficient?

also, can i bring both my monitors? please pretty please:dogeye: i like to know if anything is about to overheat and how my leech- uh, i mean 'legal filesharing' is progressing whilst i game...

there will be a dc++ server and gigabit ethernet right?

528300 2007-03-15 02:54:00 Multiboard is good, don't need an extension cable ;) We can provide multiboards to the first 5-10 people who need 'em.

It's gigabit, and there will be a DC++ hub.

Motorbyclist, these mice pads are REALLY nice. They're ultra big, thick, and really grippy.

Two monitors is fine, max size is 19", your computer goes on the floor :) Desk may bend a little, but won't snap; i've got four monitors + a computer on one of the desks we use right now.

Any other questions?

528302 2007-03-15 10:06:00 Neo... Why haven't you considered running America's Army? Or Company of Heroes?

look, when a lan organiser says what games there will be it means nothing. people will play whatever they can, the more people that have the game, or can otherwise obtain and sucessfully run the game the better.

hopefully everyone won't be CS fanboys so we can get some varied gaming done. trackmania, flatout2, battlefield, desert combat, call of duty2, prey, doom, unreal tournament 2004,course counter strike, command and conquer generals and of course starcraft are all guaranteed to be played, hopefully.

i myself have never obtained a copy of either of your games, but i'll give 'em a go:D

528303 2007-03-16 04:05:00 A lot of CoH happens ;) We're even thinking of having an impromptu CoH tourney sun morning.

America's Army has a huge learning curve, which makes it less fun for newbie players who haven't played the game before. That being said, I have seen a few people playing it.

Also motorbyclist: I put those games in there to indicate we play a huge wide variety, and not one game, IE CSS. *Shudder*

That being said, CSS does happen, but we just let them do their thing and play the real men's games.
