731879 2008-12-23 00:11:00 Hello,

Im trying to help my cousins. Their sound drivers randomly disapeard from their computer and now theres no sound.

I tried to fix it by installing the AC'97 codec thing, but that doesnt help.

Does anyone know any solutions?

I don't know which drivers to get.

731881 2009-01-11 01:42:00 Hi, the mobo is a "ASUS M2N-MX SE Plus".

I have now done a reinstall of windows. I've also got the sound back by downloading the audio drivers from the ASUS website.

BUT, now a new prolem. When I reinstalled windows, for some reason, windows didn't install the ethanet drivers... Can I fix this by installing them manually?

Heres what the device manager looks atm:

731882 2009-01-11 02:02:00 You'll have to go back to the ASUS site, and download the above, Windows doesnt install the ethernet drivers.

The LAN / sound / chipset drivers should be on the cd or the mobo manufacturer's site.

731883 2009-01-11 02:03:00 Go back the the same Asus web site - under your model will be all the drivers, chipset, audio, LAN and what ever else the board has - download them all and install as required.

Edited: just checked on the Asus Site (support.asus.com) top left in the model search type in M2N-MX SE PLUS select OS - download the chipset drivers, and install, they should have the LAN as well, there is no separate LAN drivers - the chipset download is 107.73Mb

Heres what it contains;
Nvidia Chipset Driver Program v65.7.6.0 for Windows 2000/XP NVIDIA 32bit SATA RAID Driver for Windows 2000/XP
