528287	2007-02-26 08:23:00	The Battlegrounds LAN, otherwise known as BGLan, is a medium sized event which caters towards the LAN goer. We are a gaming lan, and are having a big three day event, with free pizza! COSTS: Prepaid entry fee: $25 At the door entry fee: $30 Guest/Observer fee: $0 TIMES: Prepays close: Wednesday, March 28th Event Starts: Friday 30th of March, 8 PM Event Ends: Sunday 1st of April, 2-3 PM VENUE: Health at Apollo, Corner of Apollo Drive and Rosedale Road, Mairangi Bay. Maps up on website. Apollo Drive has been opened for use by the general public! You can now come via Rosedale Road or Apollo Drive. We also have 212 parking spaces, including covered underground parking. TOURNAMENTS: 4v4 Call of Duty 2 CTF, 6 team cap, round robin(1PM Sat, signups at midday sat) 2v2 Wii tennis, double elim(5PM Sat, signups at 3PM Sat) 2v2 Unco, deathmatch(11pm Sat, signups at 10PM Sat) All of the above are social tournaments, but there might be prizes ;) GAMES: CSS, CS 1.5, GunGame, Pirates Knights and Vikings, CoD2, CoH, Flatout2, UT2k4, FEAR:Combat, The Ship, Starcraft, WC3, AOE1, AOE2, SupCom, Rainbow Six: Vegas and DotA see play, and something similar to that will be played this time. NETWORK: We will have an internet connection available for gaming, browsing, and patch downloading. There will also be a DC hub running to facilitate the quick sharing of game patches(This comes in handy, it's easy and quick to grab them off of our fileserver). Our network is fully gigabit. We will be running gameservers for the popular games. FOOD: We will be selling drinks/food onsite and will also be getting Pizza Hut pizza delivered 7PM Saturday, which will be free. On 9AM Saturday morning, we tend to flood the cafe downstairs. Expect a huge social breakfast with 20-30 people. Bring $10-$20 to feed yourself. We've got a 20% discount with the cafe too. SPONSORS: We have sponsors signing on for this event, such as PC Media Solutions. Further information will be announced within a week. We would very much appreciate anyone from these forums to come. We're expecting to full our maximum capacity of 64 for this event again, so reserve yourself a spot and save some cash! Last event we couldn't actually fit anymore people in. Prepaying also lets you and your mates book a seat next to each other. More prize'age on the way! www.bglan.co.nz For those who have never been to a BGLan, we've decided to show you our venue through some photos we had taken. www.bglan.co.nz www.bglan.co.nz The above is the fantastic Zen courtyard in the middle of the building, a short walk from the cafe and right next to our conference rooms. It's very asthetically pleasing and shows that the Zen stuff really works! www.bglan.co.nz www.bglan.co.nz Right underneath BGLan is an upscale Auckland cafe, with delicious breakfasts on call. We have a 20% discount with them, and have a fantastic saturday breakfast! www.bglan.co.nz For those who have concerns about parking, we have over 200 parking spaces, with plenty of underground parking. Every viewpoint is covered by closed circut TV cameras viewable from within the venue. We also have security guards who patrol periodically and who are on call. www.bglan.co.nz And we shouldn't forget the gaming! www.bglan.co.nz www.bglan.co.nz And finally, the main conference room is an upscale, fully kitted out conference centre. www.bglan.co.nz BGLan, when you can have your LAN and sleep too.
