733082 2008-12-28 17:28:00 Hello everyone :-)

I hope I have this posted in the right spot, if not sorry..

I am looking for some one who can point me in the right direction, this is what I am looking for, I want to be able to hear the click when I click on some thing with my mouse, I have seen videos on the web where people are giving demos of some thing and when they click on a link or what ever in their demo, it makes a great click or clunk sound, you can really hear it in other words, how do I get my mouse to do that????
I have checked my settings on my mouse and my sound on the pc but see no choice for adding sounds to the mouse..
Thanks every one..

733083 2008-12-28 19:35:00 In Vista you can go to the Control Panel - Sound - Sounds tab and scroll down until you find the Select option.
Add a sound to it and click OK.
Now whenever you click on something it will play the sound you selected.
Not sure if this is the same in XP.

733085 2008-12-28 23:37:00 Are you sure those aren't the sounds made by the screen capture software that they're using? I don't think its Windows making those sounds but something in the software that they use to make and edit those demo videos. beeswax34 (63)

I am not sure what is making those sounds, but I like them and was hoping that they would be available, they sound really neat..

733087 2008-12-29 06:05:00 I was very surprised to find, not find, any mouse sounds built into my XP Home. I had always assumed something like that was available.

I googled...Desktop Mouse Sounds...& there is quite a bit of choice. PJ

Hi yes I also Googled Mouse sounds but there is nothing really there, a lot of the sounds that are offered are just squeeks, or scratchy sounds..Very hard challenge, I might just have to email the people who made the videos and ask them...

733089 2008-12-29 17:54:00 Is this for everyday use? Wouldn't the sounds drive you insane?

I think you will probably find its the capture software inserting the sounds.

BTW Welcome to PressF1

733090 2008-12-31 23:21:00 Why not just record your hand slapping a book or a desk, save it, then in windows go to control panel->sounds and audio devices->Sounds(Tab)
and then change the 'start navigation' sound to that which you recorded?

Hope it will be of help.

(or instead of recording a sound you could change it to something reasonably thumpy like the included 'Windows XP Battery Low' sound, but note that this will only work in windows explorer)

Surely I could whip up a quick C application... Is it possible to post attachments here?
