| 529570 | 2007-03-02 21:59:00 | This offer is only available to people who will pick up from my home in ChCh. My Goodman 20w speakers (good in their day) have finally sucked the kumara. The bass speaker cones all disintegrated around the edges. Probably because they are over 20 years old. Someone who is handy with these things might be able to pick up new bass speakers to replace them - the boxes themselves are still good, and the tweeters? are still working. Some water staining on the tops from SWMBO who would insist on putting pot plants on top and then watering them. Sigh. I have also just replaced my 20 year old 20w Technics receiver - the receiver still works fine, though it is not likely to bring out the noise control squad. Thirdly, there is a much newer Kenwood double cassette tape player. I am sure it works fine, but to test that you have to be able to insert tapes and push the play button. The snag is that neither door will open when you push the open button. The thing just sits there sullenly whirring away and refuses to open either of its mouths. Perhaps someone could fix it? We never play/dub tapes anymore so I am not willing to spend the wee fortune required to get it fixed at the local repair shop. So, to any of you who live locally and who have some skill with this sort of stuff, you might be able to get a working system out of these three components. PM me if you are interested. I would prefer to see them go to a poverty stricken student, but any good home will do rather than the transfer station... John |

The material all around the edges has turned into some kind of weird powdery substance! |
