Vista was supposed to have a totally new file system, but this was canned when they knew that it would take a lot longer. Vienna or what ever they will call the next 'should' have the new file system if they can work out all the bugs. Vienna is actually Longwait, well closer to what Longwait was going to be before MS stripped out the shiny new file system and a couple of other shiny new things that they were marketing like blazes as essential and innovative(c). They needed to get rid of that stuff because they wanted to tack on the DRM, squeeze an AV in somewhere and add in the troj... uhm diallers. MS have been working on Vienna for some time now, even longer if you take in to consideration the bits of Longwait/Vista that they abandoned for that version. There is one thing about Vienna I am very confident of, it will be the best MS OS yet. Yes, you heard it here first, the best MS OS yet. |

(The REAL Y2K bug.) Vista will have to be mighty bad to oust Millenium Edition from it's position at the bottom of the cesspit. |
