733115 2009-01-06 09:04:00 Personally I'm more concerned about Section 92 here in NZ. Nermal (7077)
733116 2009-01-06 18:45:00 darknets, proxying

Damn Chilly I've got no idea what a darknet is - probably my local wireless system once the sun goes down?

LOL

en.wikipedia.org(anonymity_network)

:)

Basically either of those will allow you to either:
A) share as much as you like, connecting directly to the darknet -- They can do jack squat against decent encryption
B) Appear as though you originate from elsewhere in the world, maybe Germany, maybe France ... They cant trace back to you.

The politicians are Idiots!

Chill, sister inlaw in the states is using openDNS (http://www.opendns.com/) and swears by it, I have no reason to use it. Have you tried it?

733119 2009-01-06 19:09:00 Yup, but that only changes your DNS requests, you're still easily traceable on the internet :)

Highly recommended for pr0n / content blocking etc though!
Had a look at it yourself? Its dead simple to try and, and dead simple to change back from should you decide you dont like it...

I would but it would block 99% of the pages I go too. Instead my comp is off limits to the kids and theirs are locked down with osx parental controls with logs sent to me daily:D

733122 2009-01-06 19:18:00 Thing is, the authorities and the movie companies cant even track down a 1-man release-group:
www.nzherald.co.nz

This man is *seeding* to the public, how much harder is it going to be to police any semi-decent pr0n trader who doesnt have to expose himself to the public (haha)? Chances are most of the stuff never uses http, but I'd guess its probably traded through IRC.
