733003 2008-12-28 03:22:00 I was thinking of doing another format instead?

Previously AVG detected like 400 trojans.I formatted it and as E drive had nothing in it .I didn't format that harddrive.

I suppose trojans and viruses goes to another partition even if there are no files to infect?

I'm scanning using Nod now and there are 2 viruses

733004 2008-12-28 03:28:00 Thats probably why things arent working. Viruses have probably corrupted some files

You should have said this, BEFORE in the first post.

Depends what the trojan / virus is called, and what it does.

733007 2008-12-28 05:38:00 Post a Hijackthis log - if you have winlogon.exe (from the virus) running in the temp files it wont allow the PC to shut down. The LEGIT one should be in C:\Windows\System32.

If you haven't already, get Ccleaner from my sig, install it and clean out the junk, it "should" take out the winlogon.exe from the temp files if its there.
