1) Rollover ID's and personal info like real name, age etc in the sidebar with "Who's On Line Now" area.

2) Activate private rooms for no more than four people at a time in them.

3) Allow skins for personal tastes.

4) Set up voice/webcam chat availability.

5) Run a small window in F1 while the poster is logged in to the Chat area so one can monitor new posts and arrivals in Chat. Perhaps a balloon or toast to tell when activity is detected in Chat while one is in either of F1 areas...like a mail alert-type thing.

6) No avatars! They suck bandwidth. Some of us are calling long distance here and time loops for refreshing gifs and avatars gets in the way.

531021 2007-03-07 19:29:00 RE 6 - If avatars end up being included, they wouldn't refresh - they'd only load once. Animations would also be disabled - most people find them distracting. However as of yet, no-one has asked for avatars. Erayd (23)

A suggestion - you could possibly make use of the PF1 RSS feed? Especially the hyperactive TestF1 feed (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz), heh. 		sal (67)

- Potentially. Is this a disguised request for avatars?

2. Kicks/bans etc are attributed to the initiating user (bob_doe_nz)
- Yes, unless mods wish to remain anonymous

3. Gongs for devs/hoster/mods (R2x1)
- Probably, provided everyone gets them (not just dev/host/mods etc)

- Yes, but users will have the option not to display theirs

5. Private rooms (SurferJoe46)
- Yes, but I won't put a limit on the number of people

6. Skins (SurferJoe46)
- No at this stage, but possibly after next release

7. Voice / Webcam (SurferJoe46)
- No (Javascript isn't suitable for it, and I don't want to use Flash)

8. Balloon / Toaster Notifications (SurferJoe46)
- No (Javascript is restricted to its own browser window only)
- See #3 - this should do the job nicely

9. Jabber / IRC integration (Bletch)
- Possibly

10. Colour Schemes (Chilling_Silence)
- Yes

11. GUI Control Widgets (Bletch)
- Yes

12 Laser Beam (Metla)
- Yes, provided that Metla donates sufficient hardware

531028 2007-03-08 20:54:00 Bletch - About number 8, I've seen 'toaster notifications' implemented in Microsoft Outlook Web Access and Microsoft Web Messenger. Yknow, just a chromeless animated popup, wouldn't it still trigger if the chatf1 tab/window isn't focused? sal (67)
531029 2007-03-09 01:43:00 Cheers Sal - I'll look into it. However my understanding of the way JavaScript is implemented in browsers is that it is sandboxed completely, and incapable of interaction beyond its own window (or child windows).
