Looking at buying a new monitor to replace my standard CRT, but some of the specs on the page mean absolutely nothing to me. I play some games (mostly sports & racing games, only the occasional fps), browse the internet, e-mails, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

732471 2008-12-25 23:26:00 I prefer a 4x3 aspect ratio for sim racing. Wide screens may look flasher but the view is not as realistic. Driftwood (5551)
732472 2008-12-25 23:50:00 Check these out::D

Viewsonic VX2260WM Black 22" Widescreen 16:9 Full HD 1920x1080 2ms 20000:1 Speaker HDMI DVI LCD Monitor

SAMSUNG T220 Rose Black 22" 2ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DC 20000:1

LG W2252TQ Black 22" Widescreen 1680x1050 2ms 10000:1 DVI LCD Monitor
4:3 in Wide

- Enjoy original 4:3 images with an LG Wide Monitor.
- When you play 4:3 format games, you can enjoy real 4:3 images on this monitor.
- If you do not use the monitor that supports this wide aspect ratio, you will not get
"undistorted characters" images and "true to nature" scenes.

Just got this one and I have to say the response time is fantastic and after you're tweaked the settings, games and movies look fantastic.

732474 2008-12-26 01:08:00 Thanks for your responses guys. I will consider the LG and samsung, but preferably I want one thats full hd (1920*1080) for watching hd movies. That viewsonic looked pretty good. Whats a dynamic contrast ratio, and how does it compare with a contrast ratio? davidmmac (4619)
732475 2008-12-26 02:15:00 Check this Viewsonic out VX2233WM. Only been out just over a month. I have one. Can't complain. www.ascent.co.nz

So you haven't had any problems with it?

732477 2008-12-26 02:45:00 The VX2260wm does have HDMI / DVI / VGA, on it.

Speakers on it arent that great tho. But its good enough for me. I'm only using it as a PC monitor.

Not HD movies. Since I havent got any

But, it does have an audio in / out jack on it

I was going to get the Konka 22 inch, which is also a TV. But its 1650x1080 or something

Do you do any gaming on it? If so, is it very good?

732479 2008-12-26 02:54:00 Havent really got any games, should be fast enough tho. Since its 2 ms

If I had an Xbox or PS3 it'll probably be good using HDMI
