531057 2007-03-07 11:53:00 This is urgently required in this country.

An independent unit that has Anti-Corruption personal working in ALL Government Departments that reports to the Prime Ministers office on a weekly basis.This would provide a wealth of audit information garnered from the "Fishing Net" cast over all of the departments.

Departments whom on paper, appear to be law abiding...but in fact "Ride roughshod" over the law because they are aware there are no repercussions.

I'm hearing the following from media both on-line and offline.

1: Deception
2: Agent Provocateur
3: Perjury
4: Fraud
5: Malfeasance

It's very sad indeed that the very people entrusted to abide by the "law of the land" abuse it on a regular basis.

This makes the "New Zealand Public Service Code of Conduct" not worth the toilet paper that it's written on.

This obligation includes the following duties:

to obey the law;
to obey all lawful and reasonable employer instructions and to work as directed;

On what basis to you make these claims of corruption? Just because people set up a blog to moan about Government Departments doesn't mean they are corrupt . Let's face it, someone would just set up a blog to say the anti-corruption unit was corrupt, this is the mentality of the whingers .

We probably have the least corrupt public service in the world . Suggest you move to a country where they are corrupt and see how long you last .

531061 2007-03-09 01:00:00 So you wants to add another government department, Utopia?

(Forget "independent unit". Someone has to choose/appoint the people. Loads of opportunities for your complaints there...)

How will you keep that one incorruptible?
Should we let you choose them youself, perhaps?

...but absolute power absolutely corrupts.

531063 2007-03-09 05:25:00 This is not a new problem. Juvenal (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quis_custodiet_ipsos_custodes) had something to say about it a couple of thousand years ago. Graham L (2)

They should rename that site www.CyfBleaters.org

I can imagine the kind of nutters who CYFS has to deal with, they are wrong if they take kids away and they're wrong if they don't.

The only mystery left is why anyone would work for CYFS for under $1000 an hour.

Easy, a lot of them got a blanket, a banana and a handful of peanuts in their previous positions .
