532845 2007-03-14 04:33:00 Hi all,

Just wondering what Xnet charges for a static IP. I just switched over to them (from xtra) a couple of weeks ago and got a static IP, which I ordered online. Nowhere in the terms & conditions or in their follow-up email does it say that they charge for this.

Someone else I know is thinking about switching, and just phoned them up to ask - the guy on the phone said they charge $10/month for it.

What I would like to know is, do they actually charge for this (i.e. has anyone actually seen this charge appear on a monthly account) or is this just something they plan to do from now on, and so are verbally telling customers?

Cheers,
Bletch

532846 2007-03-14 22:32:00 In Usage Policy all I get is this:

[quote]Static IP Addresses

Static IP addresses may be provided to customers on request at WxC’s discretion. Static IP address cannot be used for hosting services where there is a possibility that spamming or any other activity detrimental to the network can occur. This includes, but is not limited to open relays, P2P services or FTP. A

What I am asking is whether anyone has actually been billed for an Xnet static IP. If you have an Xnet static IP, and haven't been billed - I'd appreciate knowing that, or if you have been billed, I'd like to know that too. I'm just completely confused as to whether or not they charge for them.

532848 2007-03-15 03:48:00 My brother rang to aks for one and was told it would be $10 so he didn't bother getting it. SO I'd say yes, they do charge. pctek (84)
