531942 2007-03-11 09:05:00 I've come to the conclusion in the last fortnight listening to Because Of The Times - that Kings of Leon are definitely the best band on the planet at the moment. Ok I was already hooked after Aha Shake Heartbreak but has any band opened with three such solid albums in recent times?

Try your best - I'm always keen to listen to new sounds if you have any nominations.

I remember George from 1984 or thereabouts, but he is bad to the bone bud. Is he still alive??

You'd need those listening to Abba I'd imagine.

531947 2007-03-12 09:12:00 Youtube has some killer live footage of George and the Destroyers, Especially the baddest live song of all time, 1 Bourben, 1 scotch and one Beer. Metla (12)
531948 2007-03-12 09:38:00 I remember going to a Destroyers concert at the Auckland Showgrounds in 1982 (1983?). Absobloominbrilliant!!! Front row (standing only), rockin' for a couple and a half hours. Best concert I ever went to.

Although, The Police at Wembly Stadium was pretty good too - but nowhere near as personal as The Pretenders in Hammersmith.

Ahhh! Those were the days!!!

531949 2007-03-12 09:58:00 George and his band toured through NZ a couple of years ago, Played Wellington, But on a weeknight so I didnt get to go, Never woiuld have made it back for work.

My best concert experience would be between Metallica in 91, Pantera in about 96,First time I saw AC/DC (about 90?) and Motorhead in Brisbane last year.

I would nominate the Motorhead show if I had better tickets.

But then the Springboard fesival was a killer show, Grinspoon, Silverchair, The Off Spring.

And GreenDay at the river stage, That rocked.
