| 531339 | 2007-03-09 00:25:00 | I want to develop my own music website. and i want to put music news on the front page. however, i cannot seem to find anywhere to find music news stories from. i know you cannot just republish a news story from another site because that infringes copyright doesn't it? so where can I get music news stories from? i have visited the associated press and reuters website, and there is no where to buy news stories and there is no feature to login and search from all the worldwide press releases. and one of the sites say you have to contact a sales rep. why can't you just buy and why don't they list their prices? if i could login and search all press releases,do i just copy the whole news story and if it is by the associated press,do i just put their name at the bottom of the story like newspapers do? or how do I use a news story from another website without infringing the copyright? can i just copy the first few paragraphs of the story, then put a link to the full story? is this legal?how do i know how much of a story i can publish without infringing copyright? |

The best one is to write them yourself. This is the key to creating a successful website - constantly updated, unique content. Alternatively, you can license news items from publishers as you mentioned. To get exact prices you need to contact them, but from memory, you are looking at several hundred US dollars per online reprint. | maccrazy (6741) | ||
