532563 2007-03-13 08:38:00 Sorry guys, that flash "Peel Me" was so intrusive, I have just installed "Flash Block" for Firefox to kill it. I still get a ghostly outline of the animation breifly showing but not the purple and grey block as before.

Thanks for the tip Jen. I have also installed "Flash Block" and works a treat.

Can always rely on Metla to throw a log on the fire.

532565 2007-03-13 08:46:00 This is what I see every time I refresh, preview etc. It flashes the large purple square followed by a grey colour and then it vanishes back into its corner: Attached file: purple_blob-1.jpg (www.imagef1.net.nz) (202 KB)

Firefox 1.5.0.8
Shockwave Flash 9.0 r31
OS Linux Fedora Core 6

Excellent. I'm sure Cindy will check it out.

I have the same thing (I started another thread before seeing this). Using Firefox 2.0.0.2/Linux (Kubuntu 6.10 Edgy).

532567 2007-03-13 09:37:00 Looks fine in my Opera (version 9.10). Quite cool actually. Though you do need to enable Javascript and Plug-ins before it will work. FoxyMX (5)
532568 2007-03-13 09:38:00 Works fine for me in both firefox 2 and ie7 Sp00n (9907)
532569 2007-03-13 11:02:00 I have the same issue in Firefox 2.0 on OpenSuSE 10.2, but its _only_ when I do the 'peel'. Otherwise it just sits up in the corner out of the way.

When in XP, running Firefox 2.0 it flashes across 3/4 of my screen as it tries to load then shrinks itself down to the (approx) 40x40 pixel square. Thing is, I dont have flash installed in XP :-/

532571 2007-03-13 14:39:00 (I started another thread before seeing this)Ditto.

In retrospect it'd be nice if the flap waved a tiny bit less. But it's a heck of a good idea for PCWorld's advertisers - unobtrusive but enticing enough to want to click on.
