Throw in the occasional old butt head and nasty driver and you get a rude awakening to them. If you live in such areas, you see everything...just the messenger here, not necessarily a user per se. I ACTUALLY wish I didn't know what that motion meant..it would be nicer... |

The actual word that is represented by the motion is a good old Gaelic or Anglo-Saxon word for pro creative activities . It is a legal word, but by misuse has grown to a disparaging sign of the times . |

The two finger salute allegedly comes from the Welsh archers in the old English armies . They were so deadly, it is said, that when the French captured them, the French soldiers cut off the archers' first two fingers so they couldn't draw a bow . It is said that Welsh archers who hadn't been captured used to taunt the French armies (e . g . at Agincourt) by holding up their first two fingers to let them know they still had them and what the French could expect . I have known this story for yonks, but Wikipedia suggests it may be a myth: . wikipedia . org/wiki/V_sign" target="_blank">en . wikipedia . org However, isn't the myth and the V sign more acceptable than the single digit as explained by SJ46? :) |
