532210 2007-03-12 00:52:00 non-onboard graphics in a laptop? very few and far between. good luck in finding one, it certainly won't be cheap. tweak'e (69)
532211 2007-03-12 01:04:00 Cheapest I have found so far is about $2400 with a Geforce 7300 in. Not too bad, but interested to see if there are any < $2k ones mejobloggs (264)
532212 2007-03-12 01:05:00 got a link to it ?

sorry looks like i'm a bit out of date with laptops. however they are still only the mobilty vers not the full house cards. there where a few laptops that came out with full top end video cards on a daughter board. battery life wasn't very good ;)

And there is also this one: www.playtech.co.nz
That has a nVidia GeForce GO 6100-128MB Shared VRAM. Not quite sure what that is. Sounds like a dedicated card, but it's using shared ram.

Ok, it looks like it is about the same as onboard graphics, according to this website: www.notebookcheck.net

532214 2007-03-12 03:46:00 Have a look at some of the laptops in the Asus z92 range, they are mostly sub 2k and all have either a go 7300 or a go 7600 lagbort (5041)

WIth dell, you can config an order to have a dedicated graphics card.

532216 2007-03-12 05:31:00 Yeah, but none of the sub 2k laptops on dell let you add a graphics card afaik. Only the more expensive ones have that option.

Thanks for that tip lagbort, will have a look.
