734753 2009-01-03 13:00:00 I'm having trouble with vista, The real date is Jan 3 2009 but every time I reboot / boot up the date resets to sept 12 2007.My Main problem is ,is that because of the huge difference from the windows server date and my date , live onecare cant update and windows update wont run either. I can temporarily change the date / time but that starts to get annoying because every time I boot up , the date resets. Any Suggestions? NeoVista (14480)

Wants the server date showing and is the workstation syncing its time from the server? Are there any other servers on the network?
have you been into the pc bios and changed the date and time there?
How old is the pc causing the problem?

734755 2009-01-03 17:14:00 Thanks for the reply.

I just tried changing it in the bios but it resets it back to sept 12 / 07 whenever I reboot. This pc is no longer than 2 1/2 weeks old.

734756 2009-01-03 18:56:00 check the time zone the pc is in Also maybe worth considering taking back to retailer to get CMOS battery changed. but don't act too quickly wait and see if anyone here has any ideas beama (111)
734757 2009-01-05 10:48:00 Change the date time in BIOS and save it. Shut the PC down (cut power). Re-connect power and reboot PC, without going into Windows, go into BIOS again. If the date and time have been reset in BIOS, it's most likely the CMOS run out of battery or battery not connected properly or no battery. SuSu (12582)
734758 2009-01-09 01:29:00 Hey sorry for bumping this but I tried what SuSu said and it stayed the same in the BIOS/CMOS setting but as soon as Vista loads up it resets to Wed Sept 17 2007, and if I shut down the computer and boot up into BIOS it is reset back to the above date AND the time is 1 hour ahead. also I can't sync with any time servers for some reason. The computer is an Acer Aspire 250 gb HDD version. NeoVista (14480)
