| 733946 | 2009-01-01 06:35:00 | Does anyone understand the following? More importantly, can anyone tell me how to fix it? Unable to start a DCOM Server: {FB7199AB-79BF-11D2-8D94-0000F875C541}. The error: "The system cannot find the file specified. " Happened while starting this command: C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe -Embedding For more information, see Help and Support Center at Details Product: Windows Operating System ID: 10000 Source: DCOM Version: 5.2 Symbolic Name: EVENT_RPCSS_CREATEPROCESS_FAILURE Message: Unable to start a DCOM Server: %3. The error: "%%%2" Happened while starting this command: %1 Explanation The Component Object Model (COM) infrastructure could not activate the requested server. Possible causes include: There is not enough memory available An error occurred with another file that the COM infrastructure depends on. User Action Review the Windows error code displayed in the message. If the error indicates that the system is out of memory, save your work, close other programs, and then try to start the service again. Alternatively, increase the amount of RAM installed on the computer. If the message displays a system, server, or configuration error, contact your service support vendor. To determine the service vendor I'll be your friend for life if you cam fix it. Jack |

| 733950 | 2009-01-01 08:40:00 | The problem is to do with Messenger The error: " The system cannot find the file specified. " Happened while starting this command: C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe -Embedding Reinstall Messenger, then make sure you select not to start when windows starts and it should boot up OK. If you haven't installed MSN messenger theres two other possible problems - windows in built messenger is damaged, ( Its different to MSN messenger) so go to Control Panel / Add remove programs/ Add remove windows components/ Locate Windows messenger and untick it, reboot, then if you want it back reinstall it again. OR -- Start -> Programs -> Windows Messenger -> Tools -> Options -> Preferences. Uncheck " Run this program when Windows Starts " . If its not there, go to C:\Program Files\Messenger open it, the setting is under preferences to disable at startup. OR if you have been on the Internet with no protection - there is also a virus called msmsgs.exe |

A quick search through program files revealed NO MESSENGER folder. Asearch in MS produced one. Installed it. Problem gone. You are now a friend for life. Thank you, Jack |
