533387 2007-03-22 23:34:00 Plus I have just found a Samsung 215TW with $250 off. That is seriously tempting.

*mejobloggs drools at the pictures of the lcd's*

I would say "Oh god, yes.... yes please!" :D

533388 2007-03-22 23:39:00 It's second hand. I wonder if the warranty can be transferred to me? If I don't get the warranty, I'm not buying it.

Couldn't bear to think spending so much on an lcd and get stuck pixels some time later, and no warranty!

And as usual, you research a monitor, and people say bad things about it. Apparantly there is a noticable (for some people) input lag, meaning the picture on the lcd is about 50ms behind your mouse movements etc.

I read a review where they measure the lag, but said that it's not noticable, even though people complain about it. I should try and find the review again....

533389 2007-03-22 23:45:00 Would you guys buy a second hand lcd? Is it worth the risk do you think? Apparantly it is only about 2 months old, and the guy is selling it, plus his computer, because he wants the money for a car.

He has the reciepts and everything.

Yes, if it has the warranty and I would be wanting to pay a lot less than retail, even though it's only a few months old. Can you have a play with it before you decide or is it out of Aucks?

The 'lag' is a new one on me... we've got 7 diff brands of LCD in the office and none show that effect.

533391 2007-03-23 00:29:00 LCD lag:

www.short-media.com
www.behardware.com

And searching '215TW lag' brings up heaps on google. But I have read a few places that say it only seems to be when you are running on the non-standard resolution, and it's barely noticable anyway.

Sounds good, hopefully the warranty can be transfered to me!

533392 2007-03-28 08:03:00 I got the VX2025wm in the end. Just hooked it up to my pc now.... Just as I have to go out! Arrrgh!

Looking at it, I think 20" is a bit on the small side. 21" or 22" would be better, even at the same resolution.

My deal with the 21" fell through, which is why I got the VX2025wm.

I want to use it now! Unfortunately I have to install windows and everything first even, grarrrgh.

533393 2007-03-28 10:50:00 I just bought the Samsung one today - interesting coincidence because I didn't find it via this thread! :D Erayd (23)
533394 2007-03-28 10:58:00 Meh, I just put the finishing touches on a new gameing rig (not for me though) plugged it into my 120kg CRT and fired up Company of Heroes, FREAKIN STUNNING.

CRT for the win.

533395 2007-03-28 21:04:00 Yeah, CRT's are still nice, except I don't have the room for one. mejobloggs (264)
