I have one which I gave up using as a cellphone, because my wife was always saying the signal was poor when I phoned her from out of town. I found it related to the state of charge. My current cellphone works fine even when only on half charge but the Treo was c@#p when it was like that. Still, it works well as a PDA, SMS device, and email composer! And for checking emails as well provided you set it to only download headers, and only download those ones that are urgent. I used to find that my travels always seemed to coincide with the kids sending me photos etc that played havoc with the Vodafone bill until I set it to headers. Have a great trip. |

The local Telecom guys grinned wryly and said these devices are aimed at the millions of people who never leave big cities. Best phone I ever owned was a Kyocera and I still think of reactivating it. My Nokia is easier to text with and can take photos but the Kyocera beat everything hands down for range and battery life. |
