533442 2007-03-31 04:13:00 NZ passports now have "biometric" microchips . Of course this caused a hefty increase in the cost .

An official "reason" for the added technology was that Israeli spies had been caught attempting to get NZ passports . As far as I can see, if they had succeeded, they would have had false passports . Now, if they successors succeed, they will have "biometrically trustworthy" false passports . Not very cost effective .

533443 2007-03-31 06:02:00 This is a very dangerous slippery slope towards total control by Big Brother, 1984, The New Right, The New World Order, and the Corporate world, where everyone is in a biometric data base, and you even have to have hand scans to buy at a supermarket :)

Seems reasonable to me,who wants terrorists buying from the local supermarket?Who know what they would be buying?

After all, everyone knows you can make bombs from ordinary everyday ingredients you find around the home (or at the supermarket) ;)

My point exctly,and you have to worry about people who don't want a chip in there arm,what have they got to hide,one has to wonder.

All too true. :waughh: After all, we have had people with chips a shade higher up for many years - whoops - we better get those ******** right away, immediately. Bomb dispensing must be restricted to members of the LMVDI. :thumbs:
