533337 2007-03-16 09:47:00 Vista has probally sold more in the last 2 weeks then all the OS's ever released by Apple in their entire history.

That must really suck the wind out of Bills billion dollar rich man sails.......

Met's, this obsession of yours with Macs is really becoming quite... erm, unbecoming.

If I didn't know better, I'd have to think it was puppy love. It's not, is it. Is it!

With .98 of a Percent of world wide market share for Vista I very much doubt it, although Bill would probably like to have the same view as you Metla. That is probably what is getting up his goat so much, that and all those annoying questions about that little fruit company that seems to keep on growing when he would rather the interviewers were treating Vista as though it were the 2nd coming.

533339 2007-03-16 10:15:00 He sucks at interviews(having said that I would never read or watch anyone in the PC industry do an interview, More productive to be asleep then pay attention to twaddle), and I'm sure hes getting annoyed that pissant little interviewers are bringing up pissant little Apple when hes wanting to promote his "stunning" new flagship product.

Back in the good old days he would just have had them labbeled commies and had them killed off, He is the worls richest man after all, Hell, he could start his own country, Train up an army, Then hunt down and imprison (if by imprison we actually mean kill and feed to the army) all Mac fanatics and insolent interviewers.

At the end of the day, Whose life is sad enough to care..........

It's all because Steve Ballmer didn't send a Xmas card last year. The man's a swine.

533342 2007-03-16 15:41:00 Morning update:

Microsoft, according to Stanford business school Dean Robert Joss, has reached a plateau .

In January, it released new versions of its Windows Vista computer operating system and Office productivity software, and faces threats from open-source software companies like Red Hat and Silicon Valley rivals like Apple .

But to Stanford University b-school dropout Steve Ballmer ( . siliconvalley . com/mld/siliconvalley/16915672 . htm" target="_blank">www . siliconvalley . com), Microsoft's chief executive, the new products are a milestone on the way toward transforming his business, whose stock price has remained flat since the collapse of the dot-com bubble, despite steady income growth .

[note to self: do not pay any attention to the man behind the curtain]

Translation :- The re-flossied OS (Mystery) is nearly ready to go. The mirror factory and smoke generators are being thoroughly inspected for what is expected to be a busy season. The cattle (except cows) are being switched to a diet rich in prunes and sennapods. All existing Apple machines and peripherals are obsolete.
We have already sold both the Apples we made last week. For the second one, we even got a 50C tip, so turnover and profits are well up on industry forecasts.

To all our factory staff:- Good on you Maria, the place looks good, thanks for bringing in your relatives last week to make it look busy during the visit from a prospective customer. (Or someone new to us anyway.)

533345 2007-03-16 22:30:00 On the contrary R2x1, OS X 10.5 (Leopard) will install on all existing Intel Macs (I am not sure about PPC Macs). Due out May 11th 2007.

Pennsylvania university pulls PC plug, goes all-Mac
March 15, 2007 (Computerworld) -- Wilkes University announced yesterday that it has pulled the plug on PCs in favor of Macs, saying the move -- which actually began last year -- will save the Pennsylvania liberal arts college more than $150,000 while still letting students and faculty continue to run Windows applications.

Touted as one of the first colleges to mandate a campuswide shift from Windows PCs to Macs, the Wilkes-Barre, Pa., school wasn't a bastion of all things Apple before the decision, said Scott Byers, vice president for finance and the head of campus IT. Macs, in fact, were a minority.
