533104 2007-03-15 19:26:00 . . . If it wasn't so dry in Australia, I might've considered moving there:horrified

If they get legislation like this they'll be just as wet as us.

533106 2007-03-15 20:44:00 I find it very ironic that we owe it to Philip Field that the bill has not been passed. Not many people have commented on this.

His delaying tactics give everyone time to lobby their MP's before the next vote in 2 weeks time.

People should phone their Labour and National local candidates and say don't vote for it or we will not vote for you and Labour next time and we want National to publicly say that they will repeal the bill as soon as they are elected.

Helen DOES respond to public pressure !

LOL, yes, you are quite right, who would of thought?.

It also shows how party pressure is sometimes NOT in the interests of all, if he was still in the Labour Govt, it would of been all over. Another reason why this should be a conscience vote, NOT a party vote

533107 2007-03-15 20:48:00 I too saw the re-run of Helen Clark clearly stating there wouldnt be an anti smacking law, so now we have prove of lies!. How dooooo they get away with it. Blantant c**p.

There needs to be laws to pull MP's into line!!!

533109 2007-03-15 21:33:00 It just goes to show that politicians do not have our best interests at heart.

It's all about controlling the people and this little scenario proves it.
Do you really think National will be any better!

I say bring on the revolution!!!.
Oh hang on, they took all our guns away after Aromoana.
Oh well, baaaa baaaaa.

533110 2007-03-15 21:56:00 If this becomes the business of the police then I might as well whack one of them as well, if I'm to go up for assault I might as well make it legit.I hear you and am with you on that. Except it's a no-win situation. One of my brothers has been jailed three times for assaults on police. Would've been four but another brother who's a lawyer managed to get him off the first one. The system is bigger than the people they are supposed to represent. :groan: Greg (193)

533112 2007-03-23 13:59:00 From what i have heard, the anti smacking law is where................ a parent can smack their child to prevent them from doing harm to them selves or whatever but cannot smack them for punishment for doing something wrong??? :illogical If Ive got this right that means that us parents can actually smack a child because we think they might be about to do something bad???? and if i have this right it means we can smack a child for thinking about to .. or because we think they are about to do something wrong but not if they actually do ..:waughh: so if Ive got this right ..... we can smack them for actually not doing anything at all :groan: as long as we don't smack them after they have done something wrong. .................. make any sense ? Didn't to me either. never-u-mind (6500)

Signed paintings she never painted. Known to being in a car going very much over the limit and professing to being totally unaware. One or two other things but the dyke has lost all credibility if she had any in the first place having married for political reasons.
