733996 2009-01-01 11:50:00 I just upgraded my Windows XP PC from a Gigabyte 6600GT video card to a Sapphire HD 4670, and the computer hasn't been able to come out of hibernation ever since.

It goes into hibernation and switches off fine, but when I turn it on again the "Resuming Windows" screen comes up, gets to 100% and then right where the login screen would normally show, the entire screen just goes black and I am unable to do anything except reboot. This only happens when I hibernate the PC - after it has been shutdown or restarted the login screen shows up fine. This has only started to happen with the new video card.

I would greatly appreciate any help, as hibernate mode is almost a necessity for my PC - it takes a very long time to restart.

2. Did you uninstall your old graphics card drivers?

3. Get this to do a bit of a clean up on your computer: http://www.ccleaner.com/

733999 2009-01-02 03:06:00 I have uninstalled the nVidia display driver (still have to keep the nForce drivers for my ethernet adapter) and installed the ATI Catalyst driver that came on the bundled disk. samnorr (13776)
