534341 2007-03-19 06:38:00 Hey all

Im lookin for a (Free!) Texas Hold 'em game that I can play with across the LAN (Without having to be online), ideally with at least 5 other people.. and maybe bots would be nice?

Windows or Linux - Doesnt matter

Cheers

534342 2007-03-19 06:45:00 Ah, it is a poker game ... I thought it was a cowboy rodeo game involving large foamy mouth, nostril flaring, foot stomping, side heaving beasts. :D

edit:
Actually that still could be true! Depending on how sore losers your playing companions are!

534343 2007-03-19 07:32:00 Man that's a freaking sweet idea! (The Texas Hold 'em, not the rodeo :p)

I don't know of any unfortunately, I'll have a look around. Hopefully someone else knows of one :D

534344 2007-03-19 08:32:00 I found Fat Cat Poker (www.accidental.com), which errors after install for me, and DDPoker (http://www.ddpoker.com/), which has a pretty limited demo, but looks to be promising. roddy_boy (4115)
534345 2007-03-19 10:13:00 If you have Vista Ultimate you can download a Hold 'em poker game :D
Haven't had a chance to look at it to see if you can play on a LAN.

Ah, that's where she is. Jen, when you finish your chat with my wife, could you tell her tea is ready? Thanks.

534347 2007-03-19 13:51:00 Dont have Vista sorry...

FatCat gave me a runtime error also :( Looked a bit cheap though, Im not a fan of having those MSAgent Chars represent me... I just wanna see the cards ;)

DD Tournament Poker was awesome... costs $29 though, but its great fun :D

Anybody know of anything else?

534348 2007-03-19 20:01:00 Chill

Why not go on one of the big Poker sites like PokerStars, register and play with play money (like I do). You can even set up your own room where you and the friends can play. Beats any $29. I also saw a new PC game on the shelves about Poker but it's about $70 (I think).

534349 2007-03-19 21:54:00 Yeah been & tried Pokerstars.. Its great, but useless if you dont have a 'net connection at the time :(

...hence my problem!

534350 2007-03-20 02:36:00 Yeah most of the free ones are client software for companies who make their money off people playing online, hence them being online only. roddy_boy (4115)
