AUDIO: Bob Garfield vs. Bill Gates " GARFIELD: This is based on pretty much zero data, but it doesn't seem to me that either Vista's or Zune's campaign has so far generated a whole lot of buzz. Are they generating any business? GATES: Vista's doing extremely well. Zune has gained a great No. 2 position as a product that's completely new for us. Vista's the most-used piece of software there is in the world, and so it has this incredible impact as people talk about how it simplifies things that they've done. We've seen a much stronger reception in terms of people upgrading the software, buying new PCs than we expected there. I think a lot of that had to do with how much we worked with users in advance and understood exactly what they were interested in." 533335	2007-03-16 09:16:00	I have no idea who he is although like many of the interviews of Bill Gates that I have read recently, he is one of many interviewers who keeps taking the wind out of Bill's Vista promo machine sails by constantly referring to either similarities (blatant copying as opposed to innovation) between Vista and OS X 10.4 and the "success" of Zune compared to the iPod which is obviously pissing both Bill and Ballmer off a lot. (boohoo). The other interviewer that did this was the guy from NewsWeek. I have to say that it wasn't until Bill said that Vista was the most used OS in the world that I realised how well it must have been selling since it's release...? Unless he was actually referring to XP. ;) Because according to this chart Vista is not quite at 1% yet (well its pretty close)	winmacguy (3367)
