| 735121 | 2009-01-05 01:05:00 | I'm finally trying to get more RAM for my PC. I've looked at Pricespy, but don't know the difference between SODIMM and PC6400 or PC 5300 DDR2 800sticks? Or doesn't it matter? sarel |

| 735122 | 2009-01-05 01:15:00 | SODIMM is for laptops, DDR2-800 is PC6400 (nice and cheap - get this if your PC supports it) | jwil1 (65) | ||

Lastly - it's quite difficult to decide what to buy if you know squat about it. Saw some good prices on Trademe but I'm wary of buying stuff that won't fit with my PC. Is there any easy way of finding out if it will work with your system? sarel |

I ran this program on my old ASUS PC and it says that it uses DDR-PC3200. The cost in the US for a 1Gig stick of this stuff is around US$30. Nearly died when I saw the price here. Starts at about $80 and goes up to around $125 at DSE. Why so fracking expensive in the country?? |

| 735128 | 2009-01-06 07:18:00 | cos its old, and probaly not in great demand now cos ddr2 is so cheap and alot of people would of found upgrading with the last years prices being so cheap an easier option | hueybot3000 (3646) | ||

| 735130 | 2009-01-06 18:42:00 | The program said I needed a DDR PC2-6400 and that I can actually install up to 4 GB. So, having said that, wouldn't it be better to get 2 x 2 GB then or is the increase in performance not that big? sarel |
