734849 2009-01-04 01:23:00 pressing shift down and trying to press any of the top row of letter keys on my keyboard doesn't work. the two bottom rows work fine and the shift + numbers does as well. Tried reseting pc, taking keyboard usb out and back in, checked logitech settings (its a wave corded keyboard), nothing out of the ordinary.
Any other ideas to fix it?

running x64 vista if it helps

734850 2009-01-04 01:36:00 if you have a linux live CD boot from that and see if the keys work or not - that way it will test if its a software or hardware problem.

If not try running restore back to when it was working OK - since you dont have the qwerty row, that takes out half the keys needed :crying so have a look here (www.howtogeek.com) on how to open restore without using keys - BUT once at the third Picture on that site, select the system Restore button, NOT the create Button as shown - then once you have restore window open open follow These instructions (www.howtogeek.com)

If it happens again I might take it back under warranty. Those are some useful articles though, bookmarked.

734852 2009-01-04 04:18:00 I don't think wainui was serious about the "Get a Bigger Hammer" bit.
Good luck anyway.

I've seen my 'in-house' tech give things a vigourous whack with good results... Not me though.:) I respond to gentler treatment/encouragment...
